“A film that revels in the oddity of Wiseau’s particular persona” – Birth Movies Death
BEST F(R)IENDS: VOLUME ONE @ 7 PM
IN CONVERSATION WITH GREG SESTERO @ 9 PM
BEST F(R)IENDS: VOLUME TWO @ 9:30 PM
Bing Crosby and Bob Hope, Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin, and now, thanks to the profoundly bizarre BEST F(R)IENDS the on-screen duo of handsome Greg Sestero and ineffable Tommy Wiseau can be cemented as among cinema’s most indelible comedic pairings. Famous and infamous for their iconic performances in the 21st Century’s premient cult film THE ROOM, Sestero and Wiseau reunite this time in a project born from Sestero’s own imaginings. The less you know the better before witnessing this sprawling Los Angeles caper, which spans two volumes and plenty of runway for Tommy Wiseau to make inexplicable (and entertaining) acting decisions that rival his most unhinged moments from his previous passion project, but do prepare yourself for murder, mayhem, and Hollyweird surrealism that is frankly downright Lynchian. This ain’t THE ROOM 2, but rather a wholly original and utterly beguiling slice of outsider art in of itself.
See both VOLUME ONE and VOLUME TWO of BEST F(R)IENDS at a ONE NIGHT ONLY screening at The Royal Cinema, with writer and co-star Greg Sestero in attendance for a Q&A during the intermission!
Co-Presented by The Laser Blast Film Society.
