Next up in Neon Dreams’ “Spectacular ‘70s” series, John Carpenter’s neo-western ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 catapults onto the big screen in a barrage of bullets and mounting tension. Channeling both RIO BRAVO and NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, Carpenter wages a literal assault on our senses with his sophomoric feature film (made 2 years before he changed cinema with HALLOWEEN) that brilliantly showcases just how much you can do on a minuscule budget.
For the intentions of presenting this film in the exact way it was originally intended, we are proud to have the opportunity to screen it on a rare and stunning 35mm print. Witnessing John Carpenter’s signature widescreen framing and hearing his pulsing score on celluloid promises to be an experience you could never recreate at home. Filmmakers, historians, genre-hounds all take note: this is essential theatrical viewing.
This screening and others are made possible thanks to our wonderful sponsor Hollywood Suite. As always this will be a fully licensed event featuring a fabulous on-screen pre-show. Be sure to arrive early!
