Parkdale Project Read presents: MATILDA

Join us in celebrating literacy with a screening of Matilda (1996) starring Mara Wilson, Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman.

This film adaptation of Roald Dahl’s book (1988) tells the story of Matilda Wormwood (Wilson), a gifted reader forced to put up with a crude, distant father (DeVito) and mother (Perlman). Worse, Agatha Trunchbull (Pam Ferris), the evil principal at Matilda’s school, is a terrifyingly strict bully. However, when Matilda realizes she has the power of telekinesis, she begins to defend her friends from Trunchbull’s wrath and fight back against her unkind parents.
