We invite you to join us for a meaningful evening dedicated to remembering the victims of the 1944 Deportation of the Crimean Tatars (Sürgünlik) and to honour the history, resilience, and cultural identity of the Crimean Tatar people—the Indigenous people of Ukraine.

Hosted by the Canadian Association of Crimean Tatars, the evening will feature a screening of the powerful film Her Heart / Чужа молитва (directed by Akhtem Seitablayev). This true story highlights the incredible bravery of Saide Arifova, a Crimean Tatar woman who risked her life to save Jewish children during the Nazi occupation and later faced Soviet persecution.

This evening is dedicated to remembrance, truth-telling, and recognizing the injustices of our history that must never be forgotten.
